This is an assessors training course. You will learn how to assess others who have undertaken vocational courses. Anybody who has had at least two years practical experience in the subject they wish to assess may undertake this course. On its successful completion, you will be awarded a
Level 3: Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), accredited by Qualsafe.
This is an online course, which is broken down into three units.
Unit 1: is about understanding the principles and practices of assessment.
Unit 2: assess occupational competence in the work environment, and
Unit 3: is about assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.
Each unit is broken down into sub-sections, for which the student must submit written assignments. On completing Unit 2, the Student is required to carry out 2 practical sessions. This involves them assessing a student in front of an examiner, either via Zoom, together with the need to submit other supporting material. The same requirement applies to unit 3.
